The most important routine to establish is your morning routine

Developing good habits is a matter of developing patterns and routines, and just like breakfast, your most important routine is the morning routine.

If you get up everyday and make yourself a good breakfast, take a shower and get dressed like you mean to do something productive, you start your day in the right frame of mind, which will carry through the rest of the day. (That's my routine, and yours might be different, of course, but I would recommend that at the very least.)

Once you've got your good habits going in the morning, it becomes easier to establish good habits for the rest of the day, because continuing on a good run is easier than starting one.
